Data Protection

The Data Protection Act 1998

Craig Robinson Vets Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioners’ Office. This allows us to keep the details of clients, employees and suppliers including bank details and employment and education details.

There are eight enforceable Principles of Good Practice with which all organisations processing personal data must comply.

These require data to be:

  1. Fairly and lawfully processed
  2. Processed for limited purposes
  3. Adequate, relevant and not excessive
  4. Accurate
  5. Not kept for longer than necessary
  6. Kept secure
  7. Not transferred to other countries without protection

We are able to share some information when necessary or required with:

  • the government
  • healthcare professionals
  • current/past/prospective employers
  • business associates
  • the family or representatives of the person whose data we hold
  • social and welfare organisations
  • financial organisations
  • suppliers
  • service providers

We have a shredder bag in our main office for paper with client/employee/supplier details on.

We do not keep details of clients’ credit or debit card numbers.

Details of our registration are kept in a file in our stationary store, named Various Documents in the Health and Safety section (should you want to inspect it!).
