Meet The Team

Vets - Directors


David Wilson


David grew up on a local dairy farm and studied veterinary medicine at Liverpool University, graduating in 1999. He worked in Cockermouth, then spent 18 months in New Zealand and Australia. He joined Craig Robinson Vets in April 2005. David enjoys general practice but has a particular interest in surgery.

Outside work David enjoys cycling, jazz and walking his two collie dogs, Tash and Sadie.

Mari Reay

Mari Reay


Mari graduated from Edinburgh in 2004 and joined the practice in 2005 after practicing in west Cumbria for a year. She is particularly interested in dairy cow health and productivity.

Mari is married to a dairy farmer, and has two children (May and Tom) and a Labrador (Hector). She enjoys playing tennis in the summer.

James Brocket

James Brocket


James is a University of Glasgow graduate. He joined Craig Robinson Vets in 2013 having worked in Lancashire for the first two years of his veterinary career. Hailing from a dairy farm in Renfrewshire, Scotland, his key interests are cattle, especially cattle fertility, and surgery.

James says he loves the weird and wonderful, and the variety that mixed practice brings.

Outside work James plays rugby for Carlisle Rugby Club and walked every Wainwright in the year 2015.

Jonathan Lomax


Originally from Lancaster, Jonathan qualified from the Royal vet College, London in 1988. After working in Buckinghamshire, Shropshire and Yorkshire he came to Carlisle in 1995. He divides his time at work equally between pets and farm animals.
When not at work, Jonathan runs and cycles as much as he can - possibly more than is actually good for him!

Andrew Fairley


Andrew qualified from the Royal Dick Veterinary College, Edinburgh in 1982. His first veterinary job was at Craig Robinson Vets where he has worked continuously since. He says he has seen many changes here over the years but enjoys keeping up with new developments. Andrew enjoys all aspects of mixed practice. Outside work he enjoys hill walking and has completed many of Scotland's Munros.


Anne Wilson


Anne graduated from The University of Liverpool in 1999 and specializes in small animals. She gained her Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2016. Anne first worked at Craig Robinson Vets as Saturday morning job when she was still at school the early 1990s.
Outside work Anne enjoys road running, fell running, cooking and knitting.

She has two young sons and is married to David who also works at the practice.

Kirsty Richards   Vet

Kirsty Richards


Kirsty joined our team the summer of 2016 graduating from the University of Edinburgh.
She spends all of her time with small animals. She enjoys all aspects of her work from consulting to operating and has an interest in diagnostic ultrasound.
In her spare time Kirsty likes tennis, keeping fit and baking. She has a pet rabbit called Maisie who enjoys being spoiled by the nurses when she boards at the practice.


Teresa Gallagher


Teresa qualified from London in 1988 and has worked in mostly small animal practice. She joined Craig Robinson Vets in 1997. She has three daughters, a cat ("Soxicus Maximus") and a dog ("Jah Wobble").

In my free time I enjoy walking, talking, eating, gardening, reading and going on holiday.

Victoria Parker

Victoria Blain


Victoria joined Craig Robinson vets after graduating from Glasgow University in 2009. She loves working with both small and large animals. Vicky grew up on a dairy farm in Stranraer and has a particular interest in cattle fertility and diagnostic ultrasonography. Outside work Victoria enjoys running, baking cakes and walking her Labrador Eddy.

Louise Grierson


Louise graduated from Edinburgh University in 1990 and joined Craig Robinson Vets in January 2016. Originally from Whitehaven, which she says is the best part of Cumbria (and the world) she now lives with her husband and two teenage children on a dairy farm in Skelton.

Clinically Louise says she likes to provide a safe pair of hands for all routine dog, cat, cattle and sheep work.

Louise has a Collie dog called Ben, two cats called Squeek and Sweep... and about 200 cows. (They don't all have names).

Felicity Kerr


Felicity graduated from Liverpool University in 2012. She is originally from Plumpton and joined Craig Robinson in January 2018.
She enjoys all aspects of mixed practice with a particular interest in sheep work.
In her spare time she enjoys playing hockey for Penrith Ladies and walking her collie dog Digby.

Caroline Goldsbrough


Caroline graduated from University College Dublin in 2016 and joined the team in February 2018.
Caroline enjoys all aspects of mixed practice with a keen interest in surgery. She is starting a small animal surgery certificate in january 2019.

She comes from the Yorkshire dales which inspired her love for animals and the outdoors. Outside of work she enjoys being active, fell walking and sailing with friends in the lakes.


Doug Quayle


Doug grew up on a local dairy farm and has worked in the district since graduating from the University of Glasgow in 2013. He enjoys all aspects of mixed practice but has a particular interest in small animal surgery.

In his spare time Doug attempts to keep active through sports, rugby, golf and squash to name a few. He also enjoys walking his dog and visiting friends.

Susie Bruce


Susie graduated from Glasgow University in 2014 and since then has worked in veterinary practices in Yorkshire. Northumberland and Australia before joining the Craig Robinson team in 2018.

She is originally from the Scottish Borders where she grew up on a farm. In Susie's spare time she enjoys walking her dog, Ziggy, and horse riding.


Hannah Mattinson


Hannah graduated from Liverpool University in 2018 and joined Craig Robinson in the same year. She enjoys all aspects of mixed practice.

Outside of work Hannah enjoys horse riding, fell walking and travelling.

Myra Latta

Farm Secretary/ Vet Nurse

Myra joined the practice in 2002 as a receptionist before qualifying as a nurse in 2005. As well as nursing she also enjoys her role as farm secretary.
Out of work she likes attending festivals, live music events and spending time with her Border Terrier, "Daisy Duke"


Louise Watson

Vet Nurse

Louise qualified as a vet nurse in 2006 and also joined the Craig Robinson team in the same year. Louise likes to make sure the inpatients are well fed and cuddled when she can!

She is a self confessed mad cat woman and has two cats, Arthur Christmas and Bramble. She also has a spingador, Finn.
Outside of work she loves spending time with her daughter Lily, fell walking and follows motorbike racing with her husband Geoff.


Lizzie Ridley

Vet Nurse

Lizzie qualified as a vet nurse in 2007 and joined Craig Robinson in 2008. She loves being a nurse and particularly enjoys caring for inpatients.
Outside of work Lizzie has a husband, two young children and two staffordshire bull terriers. When she manages to find some free time, she enjoys swimming and socialising with friends

Charlotte Smith

Vet Nurse

Charlotte qualified as a vet nurse in 2015 and joined the practice in April 2018.
She loves all aspects of nursing especially assisting in surgery.

In her spare time Charlotte likes spending time with her friends and family. She also loves to spoil her very high maintenance cal Oliver.

Vicky Noble

Vet Nurse

After completing her training at Myerscough Vicky qualified as a vet nurse in 1999. After a break from nursing to start a family, Vicky joined Craig Robinson in 2013 as an evening receptionist before returning to nursing in 2017. Vicky enjoys running weight management and nutrition clinics.

Outside of work she has a variety of animals on the family small holding and is a member of a local riding club.

Ruth Webb

Vet Nurse

Ruth joined the practice in December 2017. She qualified as a Vet Nurse in 1986 and has taught Vet nursing and animal care. She also is a advanced qualified dog groomer.
Ruth lives in Haltwhistle with Rudy and Edward the horses, Gunther the Rottweiler, William the Weimaraner, Bella the Bullmastiff and three hens!

Susan Brough

Vet Nuse

Susan joined the team in 2006 after she qualified from Barony College in the same year. She enjoys all aspects of nursing but has a special interest in surgery and inpatient care.

Outside of work she is kept busy looking after her daughter and following Carlisle United.

Jessica Abbey

Vet Nurse

Jessica qualified as a vet nurse in 2013 and joined the Craig Robinson team in 2018.
She loves all aspects of vet nursing and couldn't pick a favourite part!
Jessica is originally from the Scottish Borders and outside of work enjoys to go on walks in the lakes and spending time with her family.

Vet Nurse

Hannah is a farmer's daughter and wanted to continue her love for animals as a vet nurse. She joined the team in 2016 and qualified in 2018.

In her spare time Hannah loves to socialise and is a member of Brampton Young Farmers.

Alice Power

Trainee Vet Nurse

Alice joined Craig Robinson as a Trainee Vet Nurse in September 2017 after completing her A Levels. She is currently enjoying her training and her favourite part is nursing our inpatients.
Outside of work Alice loves travelling, spending time with friends and spoiling her dog and three cats!

Trainee Vet Nurse

Hannah joined the team in 2018 as a Trainee Vet Nurse after completing her A Levels.

Outside of work she spends all her time with her two horses, Rory and Missy.

Carolyn Beattie


Carolyn is a receptionist at Craig Robinson and started in 2003.
She is married to Malcolm who is a farmer and has two children and two grandchildren.
Outside of work she enjoys walking her cockerpoo, Bob. She also has a three legged cat, Minnie and rabbit, Lewis.


Jackie Clifford


Jackie has worked at the practice for a number of years on our reception team.

She is married and has two grown up sons and two grandchildren who she loves to spoil.


Gillian Thompson


Gillian started working as a part time receptionist at Craig Robinson Vets in 2002.

She is married to a farmer and enjoys helping out on the farm in her spare time.


Maria Connell

Small Animal Secretary/receptionist

Maria joined the team in 2000 as a receptionist. She now is small animal secretary and pet insurance administrator.

Out of work her main passion is horses, family and a glass of lager.

Ann Allan


Ann joined the practice in October 2008 as a receptionist.
She is married to James who is a builder and has two children. Outside of work she enjoys walking her Labrador Jacob and her granddog Bobby who is a west highland terrier. Ann also makes an amazing cake!

Sarah Alderman


Sarah joined the team in 2016 as a receptionist. She also does the Happy Paws admin.

Sarah is married and enjoys going on holiday and baking.
She also has two cats, Storm and Piper, a family dog Suki and a lab collie cross, Rio.

Emma McCune


Emma is a born and bred Cumbrian farmer's daughter who joined the practice in 2014 as a Saturday/Evening girl and became a full time receptionist in 2017.
Outside of work she loves to work on the farm and show her Pedigree Hampshire Downs. She is also a member of Raughton Head YFC.

Louise Dixon

Animal Care Assistant

Louise joined the team in January 2018 as an Animal Care Assistant.
She is married to a dairy farmer and has two children. She also has a Labrador, Ellie, a horse, Abbie and her children have a pony, Dublin.
