Dental disease is very common, with many dogs and cats aged three years or over having problems requiring professional treatment from time to time. Untreated dental disease can result in discomfort, loss of appetite, pain, tooth loss and infections in the mouth. Bacteria can even spread from the mouth to affect organs including the heart and kidneys, thereby having a significant impact on your pet’s quality of life.

Dentistry Procedures

We use some of the same techniques and equipment your own dentist would use, including scaling, polishing and extractions.

Your pet will need a general anaesthetic for your vet to be able to work safely and effectively, and without causing discomfort. This means a dental procedure will require your animal to stay at the surgery for several hours.
